Spread the Love - Peanut Butter Drive
Channing “Chan Chan” Lott is 26 years old. She was born in Denton County and now lives in Flower Mound. Channing has Down syndrome and is truly one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. She loves swimming, dancing, and bowling, and she lights up every room she walks into.
Channing comes from a close-knit family with two sisters—one older and one younger—and an older brother. When her aunt told her about the Peanut Butter Challenge, Channing was thrilled. She said she loved the idea of helping people and raising money, and that peanut butter would “make her happy.” This is the very first time Channing has had her own social media presence and her own personal fundraising goal, which makes this experience extra special.
Health and fitness are important to her—Channing walks 7 miles every single day to stay healthy. She proudly tracks her progress on her phone and loves showing it to friends and family. When her aunt explained food insecurity, Channing was heartbroken. She couldn’t understand why some people don’t have enough to eat, saying, “I love to eat.” It made her sad that not everyone had a full pantry or the same opportunities she does.
Channing is also a talented athlete and performer. She competes at the state level in Special Olympics Texas and has joined a dance team at her church, where she continues to shine through her joy and determination.
