Welcome to Pitru Paksha / Shradh Page

Dear Colleagues,
Pitru Paksha 2024, which runs from September 17 to October 2, is a sacred 16-day period for performing Shradh rituals. It is a time dedicated to honoring ancestors and paying tribute to their memory.
In Hinduism, Annadaan, or the offering of food, is a significant part of the Shradh, or Pitru Paksha, rituals that honor ancestors:
Spiritual rewards: Pitru Paksha is believed to be a time when the effects of spiritual activities are magnified, so Annadaan performed during this period is said to earn greater spiritual rewards.
Honoring ancestors: Annadaan is believed to please ancestral spirits and ensure their blessings for the family's prosperity and well-being.
Community welfare: Feeding the needy during this time is said to have a positive social impact, promoting community bonding and social welfare.
Virtuous deed: Donating during Pitru Paksha is considered a virtuous deed that brings blessings, peace, and prosperity to the donor and their family.
In this spirit, I warmly invite you to donate to this virtual peanut butter drive. Simply fill your cart with the donation amount of your choice and follow the steps to check out. Thank you for your Annadaan which will go directly to help feed the hungry across North Texas.
